I make the invisible visible.
House of Astrea Wales began with something I never expected: becoming an artist in my fifties.
I didn't go to art school, and I didn't begin with a plan to become an artist.
I started creating.
What emerged was a visual language built through texture, colour, metallics, natural materials and the stories that have always fascinated me.
My work is inspired by the heavens but rooted firmly in the earth beneath my feet here in my home of South Wales.
I draw inspiration from ancient symbolism, celestial cycles, memory, nature and the unseen connections that run through our lives.
Each original is created by hand in my studio in South Wales. Many pieces incorporate tactile materials such as gold leaf, crushed glass, crystals, sand and shells, allowing the artwork to respond differently as the light and surroundings change.
For me, a piece of art is never simply something to fill a wall. It can hold a story, mark a moment, evoke a memory or mean something entirely different to the person who eventually lives with it.

Every piece begins with an idea, a story or something that cannot always be put into words.Through texture, colour and symbolism, I create art that holds both meaning and beauty.

My original artworks are created by hand in South Wales, using layered textures, mixed media, and carefully chosen details. No two originals are ever the same.
More Than a Painting
Gold and silver leaf, texture, natural materials and other embellishments are used to create pieces that change with the light and reveal details the longer you live with them.

Alongside original collections, I create bespoke pieces inspired by the stories, people, places and moments that matter to you. Your artwork is created to mean something, not simply match the room.
