Uranus: Deliberately disrupts the visual rhythm of the collection.

Unlike the more contained circular compositions of the other works, Uranus moves through energetic sweeps of blue, black, violet and metallic detail. Lines collide, divide and change direction, creating the feeling of something breaking through an established pattern.

24-karat gold leaf and crushed glass introduce flashes of reflected light amongst the darker, heavily textured surface.

Uranus represents disruption, sudden change and the moment when what has become fixed can no longer remain as it was.

Yet disruption is not presented simply as destruction. It can also be the force that creates movement.

Sometimes the pattern has to break before another path can appear.
