FIRST MEASURE OF TIME - FM - 003

First Measure of Time explores humanity's earliest relationship with rhythm, repetition and the passage of time.

Spiralling forms move across the textured surface like cycles without beginning or end. Gold and metallic details respond to changing light, while the repeated circular marks suggest the observation of natural cycles through which time could first be recognised and understood.

Rather than presenting time as something to be counted, the work returns to something older: time experienced through recurrence, movement, and observation.

Medium & Materials

Acrylic paint, metallic pigments, textural mediums, gold leaf and gloss accents, finished with a protective archival spray varnish.
